Fabrice LE SACHE
Chairman
“I founded Aera Group to have the maximum leverage and impact on climate transition in Africa. Most of the environmental issues of our time, climate, biodiversity or water scarcity, have already severe impact on the continent. I believe that generating revenues for projects that protect the environment is the best way to reinforce their strength and to scale up action.”
Fabrice Le Saché founded Aera Group in 2015. He is currently executive chairman and member of the supervisory board. Since the creation of the company he headed sales & marketing with a strong business development focus. He transacted CO2 emissions certificates with +80 buyers mainly based in Europe (Shell Trading, Vitol, Swedish Energy Agency, EDF Trading, Eneco, Cargill, Bunge, Standard Bank,..). He structured spot/forward OTC deals for more than 20 M€ and turned Aera as the largest independent trader of African carbon credits. In 2020, Fabrice started the diversification of the company by enlarging trading activities to new environmental commodities (renewable energy, nature-based carbon assets and water certificates). He closed in 2020 the opening of Aera shareholding structure by selling a minority stake of Aera (35%) to ARISE, a JV between OLAM a USD 30 bn Singapore agri-food company and the Africa Finance Corporation.
