Fabrice LE SACHE
Fabrice le Saché is Aera’s Co-Founder, Executive Chairman and member of Supervisory Committee. Fabrice established Aera commercial presence in 10+ African countries with a strong focus on francophone Sub Saharan Africa (DR-Congo, Côte d’ivoire, Senegal, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Burundi,..).
He led Aera’s growth since inception by doubling the turnover and the net profit every year. Fabrice has been instrumental in the development of Aera’s trading activities. He closed €500+ million carbon credits’ transactions in the last 5 years working with 80+ trading counterparties in Europe, Canada & Asia (EDF Trading, Shell Trading, Total Gas & Power, Eneco,…).
Fabrice also contributed to build Aera’s carbon portfolio, the largest in Africa to date, dealing with high profile asset owners such as Meridiam, Akuo Energy, CI-Energies, Green Yellow, Eren, Senelec, Somelec, Qair or Virunga Foundation.
Between March 2020 and February 2021, he negotiated the sale of 35% of Aera stake to a new shareholder - Arise IS, a Joint-Venture between Singapore agri-food giant OLAM ($30 bn turnover p.a.) and Lagos based pan-African infrastructure fund Africa Finance Corporation ($8 bn invested to date).
Fabrice le Saché is also serving several non-profit positions. He is Vice-Chair and spokesperson for the French Business & Employer Union (MEDEF) which represents 124,000 French corporates employing 10 million workers (www.medef.fr). He is also Board Member of MEDEF International (www.medefinternational.fr) and Chair of the SME & Entrepreneurship Committee of Business Europe, the European Business Unions Confederation (businesseurope.eu).
Fabrice holds a LL.M. in International Comparative Laws from the University of San Diego School of Law, a master degree in International Public Law from Paris-II Panthéon-Assas and a Diploma in International Relations from the Institute for Higher International Studies of Paris La Sorbonne University.
