Aera Signs a New Project in the Comoros Islands

Aera pioneers the first ever Verra VCS carbon certification in the Comoros Islands, starting a new VCS labelling for two small-scale solar PV power plants (two times 3MW) in Mistamiouli (northern part of the island) and Foumbouni (south east of the island).
Inaugurated in December 2020, the Foumbouni plant is using solar panels installed on trackers allowing them to follow the sun and maximized the electricity’s production. The Mistamiouli plant was commissioned in the summer of 2022 and has the same characteristics.
CO2 emissions avoided per year : 11,000t.
