Support technology transfer and energy transition in a vulnerable island with the first ever wind farm of Mauritius.
The project is a 18 MW wind farm erected under a BOOT model in Plaine des Roches, Mauritius. The site is interconnected with the national grid. Electricity is sold to the national utility, CEB. The renewable energy produced by the project avoids the equivalent combustion of 9,800 tons of fossil fuel per year and reduces Mauritius’ heavy reliance on fossil fuels (mainly coal and diesel).
