2nd Largest PV Solar Farm To Reduce Senegal Dependence To Fossil Fuel.
Meridiam, a French infrastructure asset manager, invested in the 2nd largest West African solar PV farm in Mérina Dakhar, Senegal. This project is reducing the country dependence on fossil fuel and contributes to saving governmental energy spending.
The grid-connected solar PV project in Mérina Dhakar involves a solar photovoltaic plant of 29.49 MWp in the region of Thiès. This is the second largest operational to date in West Africa, connected to the national grid – beyond new electrification of the village of Mbouky. The project also fosters gender equality and the situation of women, who are a focus of both the environmental and social management plan and the project developer’s CSR policy.
