Supporting the development of local biomass fuel production facility in Kenya.
Karan Biofuel operates a biomass briquetting plant in Kisumu (Western Kenya) composed of 7 press machines and a biomass dryer. The biomass residues used include bagasse and saw mills dust. The transformed briquettes hold high-density and high-calorific value. Karan Biofuel supplies selected industrial facilities with this renewable fuel (oil refineries, sugar and tea factories). Briquettes are used for steam and heat production in replacement of fossil fuels.
