Supporting the development of local biomass fuel production facility in Kenya.
Karan Biofuel operates a biomass briquetting plant in Kisumu (Western Kenya) composed of 7 press machines and a biomass dryer. The biomass residues used include bagasse and saw mills dust. The transformed briquettes hold high-density and high-calorific value. Karan Biofuel supplies selected industrial facilities (oil refineries, sugar and tea factories). Briquettes are used for steam and heat production in replacement of fossil fuels.
