Support the first ever landfill gas capture and flaring in Central Africa and helps avoid methane emissions from waste decomposition.
The project aims to recover the biogas released by the urban waste decomposition at Douala PK 10 landfill site. Thanks to wells and pumping stations disseminated few meters deep into the waste, the biogas is aspired to the surface and is conducted through a pipeline network to an enclosed-type flaring unit where the captured biogas is filtered and then flared. The project avoids methane emissions due to the waste decomposition in the atmosphere. The project was inaugurated in June 2014 and is operating since that period.
